Align objects

Indesign's offerings for aligning objects are limited and relatively inflexible. You can align objects left, centre, and right. In most cases, if you want the target object to stay where it is, you have to lock it first. The script posted here lets you align objects in 18 different ways, nine horizontal, nine vertical. Horizontally, you can align the right side of selected objects to the left, centre, or right of the target object; the centre of selected objects to the left, centre, or right of the target object; or the left side of selected objects to the left, centre, or right of the target object. Vertically, the options are comparable. Here is a detailed overview.

Use

As in CorelDraw, the last selected frame is the target and will not move. So, select all the frames you want to align to one other frame, then select this target frame. Start the script and enter a two-letter code. The codes are listed in the pdf linked below. This script does not work in CS3.
